Our History
Wakwetu People’s Development Organization (WAPEDO) came into existence as a result of the motivation and personal initiative of its founder Rev. Anderson Madimilo to enhance the socio-economic status of the people and protection of the environment.
Rev Anderson Madimilo is an Anglican pastor who was raised in rural family, he is not a stranger to the hardships faced by poor rural families. He grew up witnessing the forests disappearing as a result of human activities, people becoming more stressed and losing their culture.
Having an experience of those challenges, the founder set out to do his best to make a positive difference in the lives of people and their environment.
